{"id":476,"date":"2025-05-08T15:49:08","date_gmt":"2025-05-08T13:49:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/seaspirit.it\/?page_id=476"},"modified":"2026-03-13T10:01:18","modified_gmt":"2026-03-13T09:01:18","slug":"carmelo-sgroi","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/seaspirit.it\/en\/about-us\/carmelo-sgroi\/","title":{"rendered":"Carmelo Sgroi"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"translation-block\">The scuba career of <b>Carmelo Sgroi<\/b> began as a <b>PADI Divemaster<\/b> in the crystal-clear waters of the Ionian coast <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/seaspirit.it\/en\/diving-in-taormina\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"204\" title=\"diving Taormina\" target=\"_self\">Diving Taormina<\/a><\/strong>, where he developed deep knowledge of the seabeds and main dive sites, perfect for both experienced divers and beginners (<b>Discover Scuba Diving<\/b> experiences).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"translation-block\">He then earned his <b>PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor certification<\/b> at one of the world\u2019s most prestigious dive schools: <b>Prodive Cairns<\/b>, in northern Queensland, Australia.\nFrom 2009, he worked for the renowned company <b>Ocean Freedom\/Ocean Free<\/b>, diving daily on the <b>Great Barrier Reef<\/b>, one of the world\u2019s most precious natural heritage sites.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"translation-block\">Carmelo continued his professional path by achieving the titles of <b>PADI IDC Staff Instructor<\/b> and <b>Master Instructor<\/b> at <b>Buddha View Dive Resort<\/b> in Koh Tao, Thailand. Here he had the opportunity to work with <b>Mark Soworka<\/b>, one of the world\u2019s leading <b>PADI Platinum Course Directors<\/b>, and with the <b>Dive-Careers<\/b> organization, specializing in the training of professional divers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"translation-block\">In 2018, Carmelo successfully completed the <b>PADI Course Director Training Course in Malaysia<\/b>, obtaining the highest level in the PADI educational system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During his years abroad, he perfected a diver-centered teaching style, focusing on individual needs, quality training, and real in-water experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"translation-block\">Returning to Sicily, his homeland, Carmelo brought with him an international wealth of experience with the mission of helping divers from around the world discover the natural beauty and rich underwater landscapes of the <b>Ionian and Mediterranean Seas<\/b>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"translation-block\">In 2015, thanks to his commitment and collaboration with <b>Mark Soworka<\/b>, <b>Sea Spirit Diving Resort<\/b> became a <b>PADI 5 Star IDC Center<\/b> and hosted the first international <b>PADI Instructor Development Course<\/b> in Sicily, launching the <b>Dive-Careers Europe<\/b> project.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>La carriera subacquea di Carmelo Sgroi inizia come PADI Divemaster nelle acque cristalline della costa ionica durante le Immersioni a Taormina, dove sviluppa una profonda conoscenza dei fondali e dei principali punti di immersione, adatti sia a subacquei esperti che a principianti (battesimi del mare).
